DEX Reporting requires certain client data to always be contained in the upload file. Other data may not be mandatory but will be validated if it is included.
The majority of this validation is performed by your database, either by requiring the data to save the client record, or during the creation of the upload file.
If you receive errors related to client information, the following may help you to resolve them.
Client Information
The information contained within the Client record must meet the following criteria:
- SLK
- The SLK field must be valid
- If an error is returned contact CDS Support
- Consent to record client personal information in DSS portal
- Must be yes or no
- Ensure the field is populated in the client record
- Consent to participate in client research
- Must be yes or no
- Ensure the field is populated in the client record
- Name
- If consent to provide details = yes, then the name must be included
- If the name is unknown, set consent to provide details to no
- Pseudonym used?
- Must be yes or no
- Ensure the field is populated in the client record
- Birthdate
- Must be populated and a valid date
- If unknown, estimate the date and set Is date of birth estimated to yes
- Date of birth estimated?
- Must be yes or no
- Ensure the field is populated in the client record
- Gender
- The field is mandatory
- Ensure the field is populated in the client record
- Country of Birth
- The field is mandatory
- Ensure the field is populated in the client record
- Main Language Spoken at home
- The field is mandatory
- Ensure the field is populated in the client record
- Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander?
- The field is mandatory
- Ensure the field is populated in the client record
- Residential address
- Suburb and postcode must be populated and valid (street address is not required). If homeless, record the suburb they last slept in.
- If validation fails, update the suburb to match the DEX suggested details or contact CDS Support
- Homeless?
- Must be yes or no
- Ensure the field is populated in the client record
- Household composition
- Must be a valid value
- If an invalid code error is received, contact CDS Support
- Main source of income
- Must be a valid value
- If an invalid code error is received, contact CDS Support
- Income amount
- If income amount is supplied, income frequency must be supplied
- Ensure both fields are populated or empty in the client record
- Income frequency
- If income frequency is supplied, income amount must be supplied
- Ensure both fields are populated or empty in the client record
- Date of first arrival in Australia
- If entered, this date must be after the date of birth
- Remove the value or ensure it is later than the date of birth
- Migration visa category
- Must be a valid value
- If an invalid code error is received, contact CDS Support
- Ancestry
- Must be a valid value
- If an invalid code error is received, contact CDS Support
