Depending on your permissions, and system configuration, many lists in your database will include an Export option.
There may be occasions when you wish to export search results to a spreadsheet for analysis or other actions.
If you have clicked the export button and the created file is empty, check the following:
- You have selected at least one record to export
- You have not searched on a calculated field
Calculated (Virtual) Field: A calculated field is a field you can search on that is not actually recorded in the database. The search function runs a calculation to determine if the entries in the database meet your entered search criteria (e.g. Date of Birth is recorded in the database but Age is calculated by the search function)
Calculated fields can cause issues with the export process and may result in blank files.
